Ethiopia Adventure Tour
|
|
Reckoned by enthusiasts to be one of the Africa's
premier's location for white water rafting, the
rivers early fury takes it through gorges hundreds
of meters deep over fish and the huge shapes of
crocodiles and hippos.
White
water rafting is generally done on the Blue Nile
near Bahir Dar (a few days), along the Omo River
(the whole stretch can take up to a month) and on
the Awash River (one or two days). Specialized
expeditions have tackled other rivers, including the
Tekezze, the Beshilo and the Baro. Rafting can only
be done at certain times of the year, after the
rains, and needs to be set up well in advance.
Though
Ethiopia has a very high potential for sport
activities like climbing, paragliding, and caving
they are yet at their elementary stages. Fully
trained skilled guides in this area are scarce. The
equipments associated with these activities are also
lacking. Thus if individuals or Organizations are
planning to organize these kinds of activities we
willingly would like to cooperate to facilitate
things like hotel bookings etc...But as we have
indicated above "the expertise?" we do not have. We
are yet prepared to learn.
